Turning Services

Round parts production is a key part of our business. Many parts pass through our lathes, from simple pins to complex components with additional milling or grinding operations. Our CNC lathes support both intuitive conversational and CAM software-driven programming. It is common for parts to pass through both our CNC turning as well as our precision manual toolroom lathe to add all the required features of a part.

Our CNC turning equipment utilizes modular quick-change tooling to reduce setup times and improve part quality. This investment allows us to quickly build special tools for odd jobs, then disassemble and reuse the components for future jobs, which we may otherwise traditionally have had to purchase a dedicated tool for the job. While we have the capacity to produce 6” diameter parts, we typically work on 1-3” diameter jobs, and even micro sub-1/8” diameter components. Our length capacity is dependent on material diameter, but typically a ratio of 1:4 of diameter to length is good rule of thumb for parts we typically see, with some additional length capacity for parts below 2” diameter.

The advanced control software on our equipment supports powerful conversational programming, ISO standard machine code, as well as hybridized programming to give the maximum flexibility to program any part using the best system for the job. By supporting CAM software generated code, we are able to leverage our CAM software to simulate the turning of a component while including preceding or subsequent milling operations so we have the most accurate representation of our finished production strategy before making any cuts.

Re-engineered a forged pipe fitting to be produced on-demand using machining. Tight tolerance ID and OD turning done in a single setup. ID and OD milling on 4th axis to finish difficult to reach features.

High precision, hardened stainless steel shaft. Tight tolerance CNC turning, 4th axis milling, cylindrical grinding, and chrome plating.
